Are you considering renting, but want to check out a landlord?
Having trouble with your landlord and want to find other properties and tenants with the same landlord?
It can be difficult to identify all the properties owned by a landlord because ownership may be masked by corporations and the many spellings and mis-spellings of an owner's name.
This site does its best to pull together all properties that are actually owned by the same entity and treats them as a single portfolio. Use the searh bar to find properties by address or owner.
We start with the list of every parcel in the 7 county metro area, and exclude parcels that are for use other than residential, commercial and industrial use. We also exclude municipal usage. For each parcel, the counties provide the names and addresses of the owner and the tax payer. In Minneapols, we have additional information about the email and phone number for any rental license at the parcel. We call these names, emails, phone numbers, and address tags for the parcel. We infer that two parcels have the same owner when they have the same tags.
The process of inferring that two parcels are owned by the same landlord when they have matching tags is somewhat prone to error. We may connect two properties owned by "Nancy A Banning" even though they are two Nancys with the same name. Conversely, the systems might not recognize that parcels that are listed as owned by "Nancy A Banning" and "N Abigail Banning" are owned by the same Nancy. This site should be considered a starting point for your research -- not definitive. To help with the problem of over-association, the Tags View and Network View of a portfolio let you see how the tags hold together the parcels in the portfolio. To help with the problem of under-association, you can search for all properties owned by Banning and manually sift through them.
